You’ve seen those bold, beautiful necklaces on other girls. You can see the details of their rings across the room. You might be thinking to yourself, “I could never pull that off…”

Well, it’s not as hard as you think. If you want to wear statement jewelry you only have to follow a few simple rules.

Choose The Right One

Statement jewelry comes in all shapes and sizes, but it always stands out. Bib necklaces, chandelier earrings, cocktail rings, thick cuffs and bangles. Metals, gemstones, beads, feathers, and more.

Not all statement jewelry will work for you or your style. Statement jewelry can be too big for you. That’s okay! The sooner you realize your own specialty, the better the impression you’ll make.

Like any accessory, it’s not going to work for every outfit or situation either, but it’s not just for the cocktail party. Statement jewelry is showing up all over the place in casual wear, in the office, and more high-fashion looks.

Own It

The whole point of statement jewelry is to draw attention to itself. Own it but stay on those focus spots.  Big earrings can add just the right flair to that black dress.  Or maybe a dangling necklace with plunging neckline, and if you ask me… one or more cool rings can work with anything from jeans to an evening gown.

Don’t Fight It

Personally, I’m not a fan of statement earrings and necklaces worn together.  It’s just too much in a concentrated area. But I see nothing wrong with long earrings and a cocktail ring.  Whatever you go for, you have to be comfortable with it, as it is a “look.”  Your entire outfit could even revolve around the statement jewelry. And it’s actually sort of a fun way to put your outfit together if you like to use fashion as a way to express yourself and play.
