Winter Boots

Personally, I like fur lined or trimmed boots. Most of the time, faux fur is used, which is usually both waterproof and warm. Even if you want to have a more utilitarian look, you can still choose something stylish such as this Blondo Teresa boot ($200) that has a nylon upper with black fur trim and suede trim. This Caterpillar Casual Harper Fur wedge boot ($140) takes it up a additional notch, as does this leather upper Michael Kors Whitaker Shearling lined suede boot ($295).

However, you can also find some great boots for less money. For under $50, Ali Express has a range of styles from such as this wedged AISIMI high heel ankle boot with a suede upper to these rabbit fur lined, winter white stilettos. They also make these suede upper winter boots, especially for the snow, that are can be folded to expose the lining or worn knee high.

If fur is not your thing a number of companies such as Sorel and Dirty Laundry, and designers including Tommy Hilfiger make winter boots that have some flair but are also durable.

These are some of the styles that caught my eye. It would be nice not to have to carry an extra pair of shoes or boots to change into all winter. After the last couple of winters in New York, I’ve learned my lesson; you can be warm, dry and well dressed at the same time.
